You Don't Love Your Filipino Fans Mr. James Taylor

This one will be a brief article, and so I will go straight to the point: James Taylor does not love his Filipino fans.

I was watching the news last night and chanced upon something about the American singer – he has cancelled his upcoming concert here in Manila over cases of alleged extrajudicial killings arising from the government’s war against drugs.

LENI AND BONGBONG : Pinagtagpo ng Tadhana

The recent electoral race for the second highest position in the land – the Vice Presidency, became a highly contested one between Leni Robredo and Bongbong Marcos (as if they were the only two who ran).

DUTERTE SHOULD RESIGN

Yes, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte should resign.

I am thus joining the likes of Loida Nicolas-Lewis, and Black and White movement frontrunners Butch Abad, Dinky Soliman and Leah Navarro in their call for the resignation of our duly elected President.

YES TO HISTORICAL REVISIONISM

The recent burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the LNMB has spawned plentiful issues – the legalities of the burial, the Supreme Court’s decision, Martial Law, outcry of the millenials, PRRD’s affinity with the Marcos family and historical revisionism among many others.

I find the last issue muy interesante, and thus, the topic of this latest blog piece.

On the FM Burial: Divisiveness or Difference in Opinion Only? Is the EDSA Spirit Still Alive?

Even before the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the LNMB, Anti-Marcos groups were already quick in arriving at their pronouncement that it will cause divisiveness among Filipinos.

Should Anti-Marcos People Still Be Afraid?

What has revived anti-Marcos sentiments? I can think of two:

First is Bongbong Marcos’ very strong finish at the last vice presidential race. To exaggerate things a bit, he almost won it. Second is the pronouncement made by PRRD no less that he is allowing the burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. After such pronouncement, the rest is history as they say, with the highest court of the land allowing the burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the LNMB.

AGOT ISIDRO vs. PRRD: Four Lessons Learned

I will not make a long introduction for this blog article of mine. Here are four lessons I learned from Agot Isidro's post:

First, the singer-actress’ “psychopath” labeling of PRRD will travel down in history as one of the most blatant and scathing remarks that had ever been told about a Philippine president, if not the most. Her remark came out of nowhere to the surprise of MalacaƱang and its supporters, but to the delight of those who belong to the other side.

DUTERTE AND HITLER: A Case of Weak Analogy

Whoever compared President Duterte to German dictator Adolf Hitler must be given a refresher course in Logic.

Personally speaking, I was appalled when such comparison was made, for the reason that it was akin to comparing apples to oranges. The only identicalness that I can deduce pertains to the killings committed in their respective regimes.

Are Filipino Nurses Properly Motivated?

On the 18th of August year 2006, I had the utmost privilege of delivering the Opening Remarks of the 38th Capping and Pinning Ceremonies of the College of Nursing of World Citi Colleges held at Crossroad 77.

Who is Rocky Ignacio?

Just who is Rocky Ignacio?

The name figured prominently during one of President Duterte’s press conferences prior to his inauguration (the one where Mariz Umali was catcalled by Digong no less).

To Pan de Manila : WHERE'S THE CHEESE?

Can you find the cheese?

The first time that we tasted Pan de Manila’s cheese pesto pandesal was a few months back, when we had it as a pasalubong from my Aunt. I ate it for merienda and immediately took a liking for it because it tasted really good.

FOR THE SPIRIT OF FAIRNESS

For the spirit of fairness after having expressed my thoughts through an earlier article pertaining to the not so pleasant encounter between Rodrigo Duterte and a UP Los BaƱos student in the person of Stephen Villena, I am posting here the latter’s official statement regarding the incident.

The Problem With (Some) U.P. Students

The widely social media-circulated squabble between presidential aspirant Rodrigo Duterte and a UP Los BaƱos student has caught my attention, in the same manner that it has caught yours, and those of others. And this has driven me to write this article.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES : Halalan 2016

JEJOMAR BINAY

Advantage:
Binay has endeared himself to the masses over the years, and thus, has the advantage of possessing that masa appeal which could translate to millions of votes come election time

Disadvantage:
However, Binay's moral credibility is perennially being questioned, what with all the corruption issues being hurled at him and his family. And this has caused people to have a very negative impression of him. Filipinos already have had enough of corruption in the government.

Manny Pacquiao vs. LGBT: The Real Issue

Manny Pacquiao is in hot water these days with his opinion about same-sex marriage that sent shock waves to all corners of society. Directly hit primarily was the LGBT community, the members of which did not take the matter sitting down.
