McDonald's Don Antonio: Running Out of Fries?

Is McDonald’s Don Antonio branch running out of twister fries?

Last night, I craved for burger McDo and twister fries and so I passed by the drive-thru of the aforesaid branch.

“Isang burger McDo meal upgraded to twister fries.”

YES TO HISTORICAL REVISIONISM

The recent burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the LNMB has spawned plentiful issues – the legalities of the burial, the Supreme Court’s decision, Martial Law, outcry of the millenials, PRRD’s affinity with the Marcos family and historical revisionism among many others.

I find the last issue muy interesante, and thus, the topic of this latest blog piece.

Are Filipino Nurses Properly Motivated?

On the 18th of August year 2006, I had the utmost privilege of delivering the Opening Remarks of the 38th Capping and Pinning Ceremonies of the College of Nursing of World Citi Colleges held at Crossroad 77.

Lessons Learned From #AlDav

Move over a bit AlDub. Here’s AlDav for the meantime, and here are some lessons I learned from this new duo, when actress-turned-senatorial candidate Alma Moreno guested recently on Headstart hosted by broadcast journalist Karen Davila.

1. You don’t come to an interview unprepared. Going to an interview is like
going to a battlefield – be ready with all your ammunitions. Sadly, Alma
Moreno just brought a water gun with her.

THE ARROGANT MANAGER AT MCDONALD'S

Yesterday, after some deliberation with a colleague as to where to have lunch, we ended up at McDonald’s Metro Anonas. Since it was lunch break, all counters were quite packed with customers, and we simply found ourselves falling in line at the counter nearest to us.

Elha Nympha : The Birit Factor

I will go straight to the point: in any singing competition, it is always the birit factor that counts. I am not saying though, that one who has tremendous vocal and lung power will be the one to emerge as champion.

PBB 737 and MTRCB: My Two Cents

PBB 737 is one of the controversial editions of Pinoy Big Brother, what with the issues that it has spawned courtesy of the teen housemates themselves which has led to the intervention of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) as of late.

Allow me to give my two cents on the proposed measures to even out the program, which was badly shaken by recent controversies.

Yaya's Meal at Balesin Island Club : Discriminatory or Not?

Balesin Island Club is in hot water nowadays due to its now famous “yaya’s meal,” courtesy of a former beauty queen’s rants pertaining to it on her social media account. I didn’t know anything about this hullabaloo until a friend sent me a link to an article about it through a private message.

ME AND ROBINSONS: ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL

Last January 16, I got a surprise call from Robinsons. Being a holiday, I was just at home watching Pope Francis’ televised activities. It was my Aunt, however, who picked up the phone. And the caller I guess simply requested her to relay the message to me: that they extended the redemption period for the points I earned through my Value Plus card.

If you still remember, I created a furor about this matter when my card expired last December 31, 2014. This led me to write an article about it on this blog to express my disappointment, that nobody from Robinsons’ supermarket branch in Berkeley Square informed me of the expiry date beforehand, considering the fact that I frequent their place for my grocery shopping.

WHAT I ENDED UP BUYING AT THIS DRUG STORE

I did a little grocery shopping at Puregold along Holy Spirit Drive last week (1-29-15). And on my way to the parking area after my shopping, I dropped by Generika drug store to buy mefenamic acid.

So I asked the pharmacist if they have it. The lady told me that she will check their stocks. To my disappointment, she said that they ran out of the medicine that I wanted.

She then offered to me their branded mefenamic acid. I chose Dolfenal over Ponstan, because the former works for me best as of late, apart from the fact that it is cheaper than the latter.

A Total Stranger and My 100 Pesos

Last Saturday, my colleagues and I decided to take our lunch at the nearby Super Metro. We were at the basement lobby on our way to Adobo Connection, when a decent looking man with a woman in tow, called our attention.

THE DAY I FELT VALUELESS WITH MY ROBINSONS SUPERMARKET VALUE PLUS CARD

Earlier this afternoon, I did some grocery shopping at the Berkeley Square branch of Robinsons Supermarket along Commonwealth Avenue. To give you a bit of personal history, I’ve been doing most of my grocery shopping there for the last five years or so, since it is conveniently located on the south bound lane of Commonwealth where I pass by everyday on my way home.

In Defense of Dingdong and Marian: WHO CARES?

photo courtesy of the bride's Facebook account

Just today, this morning to be exact, I read an article shared on Facebook about the recently concluded and much talked-about nuptials of this showbiz “royal couple”.

To summarize, the writer pointed out that the event was a “blatant display of decadence,” to quote, amidst millions of Filipinos who “struggle to find their next meal every day,” to quote again.

A Simple Suggestion to Globe

Maybe about 2 months ago, I received a text from an unknown number, informing me that Globe is in the process of upgrading my plan. The instruction further said that I have to text 500 to a certain number, in order to cancel the upgrading.

PBB ALL IN: The Unlikely Winner

I am a quite certain that many Filipinos out there would have wanted a kababayan to have emerged as the winner in the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother: All In. As we all know, it was Daniel Matsunaga, a Brazilian-Japanese celebrity, who was declared as the victor – thanks to the thousands (or millions?) of text votes that went his way.

A BIG NO TO FISH SPAS

Have you been to a fish spa?

If the same question will be thrown at me, then my answer will be in the negative. Moreover, I don’t intend to, not even in my wildest of imaginations.

BLIND ITEM # 2 : Epic Fail Teleserye

I was drawn to watching the first few episodes of this prime time teleserye of a “family” network, for the reason that I was intrigued by its mind-twisting title.

Consequently, I learned that the story revolves around something sweet and irresistible – chocolate. The principal character is an heiress of her father’s chocolate manufacturing company, and her supposed to be love interest is a chocolatier – a person who makes confectionery out of chocolate.

PINOY BIG BROTHER (ALL IN) : A Quick Review

It cannot be denied that ABS-CBN hit a goldmine when it acquired a franchise of Big Brother, a reality game show that started in the Netherlands way back in 1999. It’s local adaptation is called Pinoy Big Brother or simply PBB, and had its debut on Philippine television in 2005.
