My own humble estimate tells me that numerous articles
have already been written, and continue to be written about the concept of
falling in love. When it comes however, to its uninviting opposite which is
falling out, the same estimate cannot be told.
Perhaps, the foremost reason why most of us are
inclined to talk or write about falling in love is because it denotes something
positive, inspiring and stirring, as opposed to its contrary which denotes
something negative and unpleasant. In the first place, why still talk about something
that is already over and done with?
But perhaps, the reason why people do not want to talk
about it anymore is that it reminds them of a dreary past, most particularly
those events which resulted to them falling out of love.
Like the falling of leaves, to fall in love is just as natural, and so does falling out of it. And hence, the phenomenon of the latter
kind deserves to be talked and written about as well.
Not that it is a taboo, but falling in love is a far
more interesting topic, for to chat about it is like going through a story with
a wonderful ending, rainbows and all.
And what about, yes, falling out of love? It is the
same as going through a story, of which the ending on the other hand is…..not
as colorful.
Falling in love is remarkable, and falling out is just
as remarkable!
There are a hundred reasons why we fall out. In other
words, it does not happen overnight. You do not simply wake up one day with your
feelings already deep into the abyss.
We take giant leaps in falling in love. But in falling
out, we take baby steps, and this signifies that it is a gradual process. And in between such steps
are hopes for reconciliation and a second chance, and more importantly are hopes that your feelings
and affection will rise up once again, like an ancient Roman ascending from the
catacomb.
However, there are things that are not simply meant to
be.
And why is falling out remarkable? Yes it is, because
the love that you once touted as the greatest is no longer great to any further
extent. The love that you once peddled as immense and electrifying has
flatlined irreversibly. Who would have thought that your undying feelings have
already faded into oblivion?
Is it not remarkable that something has turned into
nothing? Initially there was something, and now there is none!
Indeed, falling out of love is extraordinary. How
remarkable that the feelings you always thought will stay forever are now a
thing of the past.
And how remarkable, that you have let go of a person
you once thought you will keep forever.
