Advantage:
Binay has endeared himself to the masses over the years, and thus, has the advantage of possessing that masa appeal which could translate to millions of votes
come election time.
Disadvantage:
However, Binay's moral credibility is perennially being questioned, what
with all the corruption issues being hurled at him and his family. And this has caused people to have a very negative impression of him. Filipinos already have had enough of corruption
in the government.
RUDY DUTERTE
Advantage:
With all the problems that have been plaguing our country for the
longest time, Filipinos perhaps want someone who will take an aggressive stance in
addressing those problems. And this man from Davao is the answer I guess. Duterte possesses
firmness and conviction.
Disadvantage:
However, his moral deportment is relentlessly being criticized by moralists - extrajudicial killings, vulgarity, extra marital affairs,
and all.
GRACE POE
Advantage:
Literally, Poe is the new face that Filipinos want, as we have grown sick and tired
of the same names that would surface every election. Poe belongs to the new
breed so to speak, with the high expectation that she will not turn into a trapo
(traditional politician) in the long run. Moreover, her name is not tainted with any issues of
corruption whatsoever (well, so far).
Disadvantage:
Poe's candidacy currently sits on a cliff, driven to that edge by those technical issues that surround her nationality and residency which are strict are requirements to become a presidential candidate. The Supreme Court
and Comelec are yet to decide on the legitimacy of her candidacy. Also, she is still a neophyte in terms of political experience.
MAR ROXAS
Advantage:
As the administration candidate, Mar enjoys the complete support of the
government. And despite being quite a veteran in politics, his moral integrity
is still intact, with no blatant issues about corruption yet.
Disadvantage:
Of course, people who dislike the PNOY administration dislike him too.
The faults committed by his boss continue to cast a shadow on him which could
be detrimental to his chances of becoming president. He is perceived as an
extension of the current unpopular administration.
MIRIAM DEFENSOR SANTIAGO
Advantage:
Miriam's academic qualifications and political experience are
unmatched. Her knowledge about the Philippine Constitution is incomparable, to
such an extent that every idea coming out of her mouth seems to be
substantiated or warranted by the tenets of the constitution. She is the grand dame of Philippine politics. Miriam is feisty too as we all know.
Disadvantage:
Her recent health scare would not stop hounding her, and her bid for the presidency most especially. As of late, it is very obvious that she is not in her element, physically speaking. Also, she is highly cerebral (or theoretical), which might detach her from the practical side or aspect of providing solutions to our nation's concerns.
EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE, AND VOTE WISELY!

ReplyDeleteMost people only know Duterte based on what they read or seen in the news. But nobody sees his movement. Duterte is always one step ahead of his opponents. He visited Taiwan upon invitation of Taiwanese Representative to the Philippines. He also visited the National Police Agency of Ministry of the Interior and the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, to talk with Taiwanese law enforcement personnel about mutual judicial assistance and bilateral cooperation in combating crime. With regards to extra-judicial killings, CHR had no case for decades, it will remain a tell-tale. Moral? His being a womanizer us just for a show to get media attention. He is actually living with his second wife for 15 years. He is legally separated from his first wife. Vulgarity? All presidentials are badmouthing, only Duterte is honest. Beyond his personal flaws, what is important is what he did in Davao City, from a killing field to be one of the top 20 livable cities in Asia as cited by Asiaweek. Davao City was already in the Hall of Fame in 2004 for the Peace and Order.
ReplyDeleteA leader that is what we are looking for in my own definition of a leader it has to be someone who has genuine passion for his people someone who will sacrifices itself for the people someone who never show any personal agenda for itself but a dream of comfort for its people a soft hand for the weak but hard as a steel for the corrupt, criminals, drug lords, rapist for everyone who will read this please look for the concrete output of every hard work which was done by every presidentiables because for me among them its only Duterte who can show a concrete evidence of what he has done look at davao it will speak for duterte. I rather see dead bodies of criminals, corrupt people, drug lords, rather than bodies of helpless peace loving people who are working hard for it's family.
