The secret wedding of Sarah Geronimo and Mateo Guidicelli
eclipsed a bit the usual headlines that we have been seeing and hearing. What
was supposed to be a happy affair, turned out to be a not so happy one.
The whole thing has further painted a negative picture
of Divine Geronimo. But the mother is keeping her silence on issues being thrown
at her from all sides – hadlang sa
kaligayahan ni Sarah, and mukhang
pera.
Was there ever an instance that she spoke about such
accusations in length? None that I can remember of. She is no Anabelle Rama to start
with.
It’s natural for any mother to feel bad if you will
not be informed by your child of a major decision that he or she will get into.
It’s public knowledge already that Sarah and Matteo plan to marry in Italy (church wedding). So
why keep the civil wedding a secret? Divine has the right to know, because she
is the mother after all.
It is just so unfortunate that Sarah is caught between
the love of her life - the person who fought for their relationship at all costs, and the person who gave birth to her, raised her, and protected her.
Sarah Geronimo will not be the Sarah Geronimo that she
is now if not for her parents. Yes, her natural talent that catapulted her to fame is not attributable to her parents (though Daddy Delfin I
heard sings well too).
What is attributable to the parents is the person that
Sarah has become - humble, simple, and respectful. She does not seem to have
any mean bone in her body at all. And the popstar royalty would not have possessed
such qualities if not for the guidance and nurturance that Mommy Divine and
Daddy Delfin provided her. They must have worked doubly hard on this in order
for Sarah not to succumb to the trappings, temptations and deceptions of show business.
We should not be quick in judging the mother for we do
not know exactly what her thoughts and sentiments are. Like one colleague said:
hindi naman natin sila nakakasabay kumain
para mag salita tayo ng ganun ganun na lang tungkol sa nanay. Well said. What do we really know? We are only spectators, and not family members.
Anyway, we all wish them well. May they all get the happiness that they truly deserve. Sarah Geronimo, most especially.
