Thank You Gary V!

A tweet by Mr. Gary Valenciano no less was shared on Facebook yesterday. I assume that it pertained to PRRD’s address to the nation late Monday evening. Everybody has something to say every time PRRD makes such address regarding this health crisis that we are all facing - from the contents of his message to his manner of speaking.

So what was special about Mr. Pure Energy’s post?

Gary’s post was like a breath of fresh air in an online atmosphere teeming with posts that either berate or support the President. It was like fresh leaves sprouting from a dormant plant. Or rain water seeping into the crevices of dry and cracked earth.

It was a very simple message and yet it left us contemplating for a minute or two, as it was a gentle reminder to all of us that we should remove hatred from our vocabulary and put God at the center of it, most especially at this very crucial time in our lives.      

Gary’s tweet indeed was a far cry from the posts made by his fellow ABS-CBN artists who either did not understand or refused to understand PRRD’s previous message.

If I may add, an #OustDuterte hashtag even trended on twitter. I really cannot fathom why people would want to oust a duly elected President during this time of crisis. (How illogical can they get?)

Thank you Gary V! Your message was very timely.

It was like a balm that soothed our chaotic and burning minds.
