Grace Lee and PNOY

Who doesn’t know Grace Lee?

Grace Lee is both a radio and TV personality. Unfortunately, she is yet to achieve mainstream success and popularity, though she did hog the headlines sometime ago when she was linked to Manny Pacquiao and James Yap. According to rumor mills, she is the current apple of the eye of our bachelor President PNOY, after a string of girls that were linked to him in this post-Shalani Era (Liz Uy, Len Lopez, Iza Calzado). Now, her name really rings a bell, and has become popular. In case you do not know her yet as of this time, then you must have been living under a rock.

The problem though, is that Grace has become so open about her personal life, allowing the entire nation to take a peek into the brewing romance between her and the President. She grants interviews left and right, front and back, and answers questions about PNOY without any hint of hesitation. Could this be a public admission that she is ready to be the First Girlfriend of our country? Obviously. PNOY likewise does not seal his lips when asked by the media about Grace Lee. So our President is not tight-lipped about the current state of his personal life (a rebuttal to the recent Shalani Soledad-Roman Romulo wedding?).

I cannot blame Grace for being so overwhelmed about the whole thing. Who wouldn’t be if your suitor is a President of a nation? Who wouldn’t be if you could be First Lady, and a Korean First Lady of the Philippines at that? But I believe that this is not an excuse to divulge every detail of her personal life to the public. I am not saying though that this presidential romance should be a well guarded state secret. Just take it nice and slow, honey. Let your man do most of the talking. Let the natural flow of things take its course.

With all the hype that surrounds this presidential romance, it might fizzle out soon (heaven forbid). And Grace might end up staring at a wall of could-have-beens. I wish them happiness, though. Their union, if ever this will happen, will definitely be a union and alliance of two nations! Very historical. And a foreigner to be the First Lady of our country is one for the records too.

Now I think I am being overwhelmed too.
