GIVING THE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE : WCC'S 41st Commencement Exercises

It has been more than two weeks already since we had our commencement exercises, and the recent days made me realize that I have not yet acknowledged those people who helped me stage such yearly school activity.  The many tasks that have to be accomplished immediately after graduation, prevented me perhaps from thanking people for all their efforts which contributed to the success of our 41st Commencement Exercises. But as the saying goes, better late than never. So through this humble blog, allow me thank them sincerely, in no particular order.

Dean Tina Estioco (Nursing)

Any activity will not push through and run without a working budget. Having it approved though, is no easy task. Thank you for helping us draft our budget, and for facilitating the knotty task of having it approved by the management. We really can count on you Ma’am Tina!

Ms. Cynthia del Rosario (Records Officer)

Evaluating students to determine whether they will graduate or not is a very laborious task. But with Ate Cynthia around, I know that everything will just be fine. I did evaluate the graduating students too. But without her initial evaluation from first year to fourth year, it will be very difficult for me to do a final evaluation. Salamat po! Thank you also to Ate Rose and Ate Tess for the support.

Mr. Arci Fruel (Office of the VPED)

Thank you for crafting our beautiful invitation and tickets, and for authoring an innovation this year by including photos of key officials of our school in the programme. Your creativity is one of a kind. Cheers! By the way, can we publish colored photos next time?

Mr. Jian Carlo Cristi (DSA Coordinator) and Ms. Mary Ann Diaz (Guidance Counselor)

For the second straight year you agreed to be the masters of ceremony of our graduation. And for this, we are truly thankful. Do I hear a “three-peat” next year? On your good looks alone, we have already won half of the battle! Thank you too for constantly being present during our three-day rehearsal.

Dean Ike Sareno (SIHM)

Food is one of the greatest rewards after any taxing activity. Thank you for making our estomagos happy!

Mr. Sherwin Villegas (CESO Coorinator)

I remember telling you that you are our perennial Rehearsal Director. Nothing and no one can beat you in making sure that every graduating student is “in place” during rehearsals and during the graduation ceremony itself. You have really mastered the art of disciplining the kids. Ikaw na!

Ms. Ara Arroyo (School Cashier)

Thank you for your valuable assistance in making sure that all the graduating students who made it to my list have paid all their dues.  Clearance! Clearance!

Mr. Willy Estorba (Property Custodian)

I thought you have forgotten about our diploma jackets! Thank you for coordinating with the purchasing people to have them ordered, and delivered just in the nick of time. No more rolling of "diplomas" on the eve of graduation!

Dr. Cesar C. Eustaquio (VP for Tertiary Education)

Thank you Doc for trusting me for the second time. Your wisdom has truly guided us all in every step of the way. Pizza or leche flan?

Dean Zenny Sabio (PT) and Dr. Ernie Guevarra

Our sincerest thanks to you for helping us find a worthy commencement speaker in the person of Dr. Gemiliano Aligui. Selecting our guest speaker and coordinating nitty-gritty things with him were no ordinary tasks. Can we have PNOY next year?

Ms. Monica Neyra-Mingoa (Pharmacy Program Head) and Mr. Fitz Mingoa (Laboratory)

The toga, hood, and cap, are very important graduation articles. Thank you for your patience in making sure that each graduating student had those before the graduation rites. Next year again!

Ms. Jennifer Imson (Nursing Faculty)

Our ushers and usherettes looked beautiful and dashing respectively, and were all courteous to our graduating students, their parents and guests all through out.  Thank you Ms. Gorgeous!

Dr. Gin Planes (School Dentist and Nurse)

Thank you for bringing your ever reliable digital camera last April 17. If not for you, we will not have all those wonderful souvenir pictures on Facebook. Your impeccable spontaneity resulted to nice shots!

Dean Ellen Tiamzon (Arts and Sciences)

Despite your hectic schedule, you managed to have the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall reserved for our graduation. Your communication prowess indeed is unmatched! You also took the lead in making sure that everything was in place inside the venue – the sound system, flowers, chairs, and all! We cannot thank you enough Ma'am Ellen!

Dr. Elsa Batalla and the WCC Chorale

For the second time, the National Anthem and WCC Hymn were sung live, which made our graduation affair more intimate and dramatic. Your magic touch has worked once again Ma'am Elsa. And to the WCC Chorale members, a standing ovation for you! Thank you and bravo!

Ms. Del Gacula, Ms. Precie Tapero, Roldan Pelicano and Jomari Entig
(Physical Arrangement Committee)

We've been together since our days at Crossroad 77 where our graduation used to be held for a number of years. Arranging the venue until 12 midnight meant one thing: bonding time! Thank you so much for your support all these years.

Dean Emmanuel Saludes (Medical Technology)

Any graduation activity cannot jump-start without a theme. Thank you Dr. Saludes for making those trips to the President's Office to get our theme, from our President no less!

Director-General Alan La Madrid Purisima (Chief, Philippine National Police) and
Alan I. Purisima, Jr. (BSPT Batch 2013)

Thank you Alan Jr. for helping us in all aspects of having the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall reserved. We only communicated through text messages most of the time but you got the job done! Of course, this would not have been possible without the help of your Dad. Our sincerest thanks to General Alan Purisima for allowing us to use the venue, free of charge! More power to you Sir, and good luck Alan Jr.!

Ms. Marivi Miguel (Registrar, Antipolo) and Ms. Elsa Creencia (Registrar, Caloocan)

These two ladies are my counterparts in the two other campuses of our school. Thank you for believing in me, and for constantly updating us with your list of graduates. Anyone of you ready to be the over-all Chair next year?

Geraldine Madrona, Jeremiah Guance, and Mark Regino (BSPT Batch 2013)

They are our ever reliable student-assistants. Thanks for all your help and always keep up the good work! God bless.

And finally, I thank our good Lord for providing me with the gifts of patience, strength, and wisdom. And also for a very important lesson that I learned after our graduation:
C O M P A S S I O N

Congratulations Batch 2013!
