MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES!

In Thailand, it is AMAZING.

In Malaysia, it is TRULY ASIA.

How about in the Philippines? Well,  IT’S MORE FUN!

IT’S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES is the new promotional catchphrase of the Department of Tourism. Just fresh out of the can, it has already earned praises, and its equal serving of criticisms. I guess there will always be two sides to a coin. But nevertheless, this new campaign by the DOT seems to be on its way to claiming victory, since many people have been coming up with their own version of it through various illustrations. This simply means that this new tag line to promote tourism in our country is becoming highly communicable. Everybody seems to catching up the “fever” generated by it.

Why is it really more fun in the Philippines? I have asked some of my foreigner friends to answer this query. I personally believe that it is healthier to ask them, since their answers I assume will be honest and unbiased, as compared to if will ask my fellow Pinoys. We do not want prejudiced answers. Do we?

comfort + food = COMFORT FOOD !

"Comfort" is defined as a degree of physical or psychological ease. In my own words, I define comfort as “feeling good” – physically, psychologically, or both. You pair comfort with food, then it would mean food that makes you feel good, literally and figuratively. (click read more below)

The Age of Photoshop

Jinkee Pacquiao and Charice greeted the new year (and us) with their faces on the covers of Preview and Mega magazine respectively. So what’s the issue? People are talking about it, and are quick to make pronouncements that their faces, rather pictures, were photoshopped. This reminds me of the hullabaloo that surrounded Sharon Cuneta’s Marie France billboards, courtesy of Hayden Kho (allegedly). Whose model’s face, or body for that matter, on a magazine cover, or billboard, has not been photoshopped anyway? Why are critics very particular with Jinkee and Charice? Eugene Domingo also appeared on a fashion magazine (Sense and Style) but it did not create any fuss. So fortunately for her, she was spared from potshots about being photoshopped – face and body.

My New Year Anthem

Mariah Carey & Bone Thugs N Harmony
Yesterday morning,  31st of December, I thought of revisiting a song entitled BREAKDOWN, a collaboration of Mariah Carey and Bone Thugs N Harmony. No special reason whatsoever, except for the fact that I missed its nice beat. When I was glued to that song before, I did not even bother to know the lyrics. The nice beat was enough to delight my ear palates. To cut the story short, I searched for it on YouTube and stumbled upon a “video” complete with lyrics. So it’s about “breaking down”, alright. Little did I know that it will be my anthem for the new year! The lines of a part of it are exactly the thoughts running through my mind since yesterday afternoon:
